Embarking on the initial stages of Kratos and Atreus's journey requires a keen eye for hidden secrets scattered throughout the Wildwoods. The Lost and Found quest introduces players to the game's artifact collection system, providing essential experience points early on. Tracking down these unique wooden toys helps maximize your character progression before moving forward into the wider Norse realms.
Locating the First Two Wildwoods Artifacts
The first collectible can be spotted at the very beginning of the hunt with Atreus, right outside the safety of Kratos's homestead. Before heading through the stone gateway, check the snowy ground to the right along the stone wall. This reveals a small toy carving that kickstarts your tracking progress smoothly.
Continuing down the primary path, the duo will eventually approach a set of prominent stone steps. Instead of climbing up immediately, inspect the clearing off to the left of the staircase. The second artifact, a beautifully carved toy boat, rests quietly in the snow waiting for collection.
Finding the Hidden Gorge and Temple Secrets
As you progress further into the forest, Atreus will guide you toward a large circular stone structure splitting into multiple directions. While the boy moves left toward the main temple, turn right and navigate down the linear path to find a climbing chain. Drop down into the secluded gorge below, defeat the aggressive wolves guarding the area, and claim the third toy near a frozen corpse.
The final artifact requires exploration inside the old temple structure located just before the first major boss encounter. After clearing out the enemies in the main hall, look for an iron door tucked into the distant corner opposite the exit. Open this doorway and check the right side of the frozen room to secure the fourth toy statue.
Maximizing Your Quest Rewards and Upgrades
Completing this early exploration labor rewards players with a substantial boost of 350 experience points to jumpstart combat abilities. Additionally, these recovered items can be safely sold to Brok or Sindri for extra Hacksilver without losing your historical log progress. Collecting every piece ensures you remain optimally prepared for the dangerous challenges waiting further down the path.
